​Welcome to A TLP Snippet.

I’m sorry to say that today I will not be sharing parenting wisdom in 5 minutes or less. 

Instead, I want to make you aware of two very special opportunities.

Most of you know all about Black Friday, and many of you are possibly taking advantage of Cyber Monday right now. But do you know about #GivingTuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global, online movement to rise up and support your favorite non-profits. After a weekend of shopping for good deals, November 28th offers a day for good deeds. 

Well, I have two good deeds to tell you about today.

This #GivingTuesday, Victory Academy for Boys, the organization for which I work, is asking you to help them raise money for their scholarship fund. 

We work with at-risk teens and their families, and we do charge tuition for our students and campers, but many families simply cannot afford the cost of having their son in our programs. 

Individuals and churches who choose to give to our scholarship fund, allow us to be able to help offset the cost of tuition to families who need it most.

If you’re interested in giving to this cause, you can visit the donation form directly at www.vafb.org/givingtuesday. I’ll provide that link in the description. 

Now, although the donation form will not go live until November 28th, you can check out some other information about #GivingTuesday that we have on that webpage. 

You can also choose to give through the Victory Academy Facebook page which I’ll also link in the description, which will allow your gift to be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, up to $2 Million. If you would like to see your gift matched, be sure to give through Facebook as soon as giving opens at 8am EST on November 28th. Even if you don't donate $2 Million, all card fees are waived on #GivingTuesday.

After you make your donation, you can have some fun by printing Victory’s Academy’s #UNselfie template to take an #UNselfie and post it to your social media pages. This is a way for you to make our cause your own. I’ll include a third link below that will take you to our #UNselfie template and give you some more info about this grassroots campaign.

Okay, so that’s the first giving opportunity we wanted to highlight for TLP’s #GivingTuesday.
