Celebration
Though many Christians think it's impossible to worship God while participating in Halloween-themed events, The Celebration of God believes there are many ways to glorify God by redeeming the festival. Below you'll find multiple ways to worship God on All Hallows Eve.
Observation: Observe the Fall of Man and take special note of the consequences of sin.
Celebration: Celebrate God's mercy that protects us from experiencing the full effects of sin.
Anticipation: Anticipate the glorious all believers have waiting for them when sin and its consequences will not longer haunt us!

The Autumn Solemnity: The Fall of Man
- What's a Solemnity? Learn more here.
- Unbelievers will not experience the appropriate desperation over their sin until they understand what it is and recognize its dire consequences. October is a perfect time to talk about death, pain, and fear. Such conversations make for a natural opportunity to discuss the Fall of Man. This can then provide us chances to talk about God and our relationship to Him.
- Christians also need to meditate on the nature and effects of sin. When we understand the crushing weight of our sin, we will be able to rejoice over our salvation even more, but we'll also be motivated to hate sin like God does.
Celebrate God's Character
Mercy is the main divine character trait we celebrate during Autumn. It was God's mercy that allows us not to experience the full weight of sin.
- Because of God's common grace, no one is as wicked as they could be without His restraint.
- God's mercy motivates Him to extend salvation to His enemies (all mankind).
- Though we may all die a physical death, God's mercy provides a way for us to escape eternal death in Hell by enjoying a relationship with God!
Celebrate God's Deeds
As was mentioned above, one way we can glorify God during Halloween is to take time to recognize the consequences and cost of sin. Such meditations will drive our minds to the glories of God's redemptive plan.
For example, the Salvation Focus for Autumn is Desperation. Thank the Lord that He is actively trying to warn man of his need. Pain, death, separation, fear, and the unknown all show man that they don't have control of their lives. It also points us to our need of salvation.

Bible & Prayer
- Since it's always a good idea to spend time with God in His Word, we highly suggest you plan some time during your celebrations to read God's Word corporately. Click here for Halloween-themed Bible Readings.
- Time should also be set aside to pray. Be sure to check back for Halloween Prayer Prompts!
