Type: Carcassonne is a tile-laying, city-building game where players compete for space as they earn points for creating cities, roads, cloisters, and farmland.
The Brewsters love the fact that this game doesn't involve a board; instead the playing area grows as players lay their tiles. The setup will never be duplicated and is unique every time. It offers gameplay for very young children but is complex enough for serious strategists.
There are TONS of expansions, and each one changes the nature of the game. One time Aaron, Johanna, and Aaron's parents played the base game and 5 of the expansions at once. The game was over 4 hours of fun!
